Efforts taken by the government and various agencies in handling the flood crisis, received praise from victim who described the measures taken as orderly with an organised action plan.
One of the victim at a temporary evacuation centre at the Kemaman Municipal Council Hall (MPK), on her Facebook account under ‘Kamariah Ismail’, said the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) implemented by the government in handling the disaster was excellent.
“I want to thank the government, especially the many political leaders who played important roles in implementing the best SOP. There is enough food, there are sleeping bags, there are other contributions and the children are treated well.
“I want to give 5 stars to all government agencies for inspiring and encouraging us,” she said in her Facebook posting.
According to the social networking site, the victim from Kemaman, Terengganu, is a flood victim who had to move to the relief centre at the MPK hall while on a vacation in her hometown.
The posting received 27 ‘likes’ after eight hours.
According to the Terengganu National Security Council portal, until 3pm today, the overall number of victims in Terengganu dropped to 32,782 people compared with 33,292 this morning.
However, the number of victims in other areas did not change with as many as 10,138 people in Dungun, 149 in Hulu Terengganu and 759 in Kuala Terengganu.
